The United States is at the top of the list when it comes to foreign tourism. Around 79.6 million foreigners visit the nation each year. These people visit the nation for business or for pleasure. Also, it has a significant impact on the nation's economy.
Those who are temporarily visiting the United States for business (B-1) or for pleasure (B-2) or medical treatment are eligible for the B-1/B-2 visitor visa (B-2).

The B-1 visa is typically used by visitors who are consulting with:

The B-1 and B-2 visas are sometimes merged into one document called the B-1/B-2.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A tourist (B1/B2) visa holder is not allowed to accept a job offer or to work in the US.

You can't be certain that you'll get a visa. Make no final travel arrangements or purchases of tickets until you receive a visa.

A current U.S. visa is still valid in an old passport. A visa is valid until the expiration date unless it is cancelled or revoked. Do not remove a valid visa from a passport that has expired if it is present. For travel and entry into the United States, you may utilize both the valid visa in your expired passport and the new, valid passport.

TRAVEL FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT

At your visa interview, the consular official may request more paperwork if you want to receive medical treatment in the US, such as:

  • A medical diagnosis from a local doctor describing the nature of your condition and why you require treatment in the US.
  • Letter from a doctor or medical facility in the US indicating their willingness to treat your particular condition and outlining the expected length and cost of care (including doctor's fees, hospital fees, and all other medical-related costs).
  • Evidence confirming your living, medical, and transportation costs in the US will be covered. This could take the form of verified copies of income tax returns, bank statements, or other types of financial statements (either yours or the person or organization paying for your treatment).
