This is an onshore temporary (provisional) visa on which a spouse or a de facto partner of an Australian Permanent Residents, Australian Citizen, or New Zealand citizen, to live, work & study in Australia. This visa allows travel to and from Australia as many times as they wish to. This also gives rights to attend and learn free English language classes provided by adult migrant program, if eligible. Under this subclass, an applicant is eligible to avail the benefit of Australian healthcare facilities. Applicant can stay, study and work in Australia until the Permanent Partner visa (subclass 801) is granted. This visa costs from AUD $ 8085 and get processed between 06 months to 36 months.

Eligibility and benefits of Partner or a de facto (Provisional) visa subclass 820 & Permanent subclass 801 are as follows:

• Be in a genuine relationship with his/her spouse or de facto partner who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
• Be in Australia at the time of applying this visa as well as at the time of issuance. If you are applying with your family, then all the family members are required to be in Australia.
• Both applicant and the sponsor must be of 18 years or above.
• When a partner is below the age of 18 years, their parents or legal guardian must be their sponsor who are either: an Australian citizens/Australian permanent residents/New Zealand citizens).
• Applicant must meet health and character requirements.
• Avail Australian hospital care schemes and Australian medical benefits expenses like Medicare.
• Travel to and from Australia multiple times.
• Attend the free classes in English language provided by the Adult Migrant English Program.

This visa allows an applicant to stay for 09 to 15 months from the visa issuance date to marry your prospective spouse. This visa allows you to work and study during this stay in Australia. Once you get married to an Australian PR or a Citizen, can apply for a partner visa. To apply under this visa, an applicant must be of 18 years or above and has to be nominated by an eligible sponsor. You must be outside Australia and have an intention of marrying an Australian prospective spouse within the validity of this visa period. This visa costs from AUD $ 8085 and get processed between 05 months to 35 months.

 The parent visa can be counted under the categories:

An Australian Permanent Resident, an Australian citizen or an eligible New Zealand citizen can sponsor their parents who wish to live with their Australian child. If the child is minor (under 18 years of age) then a spouse of child or any close family relatives or a legal guardian of child’s spouse or an organizational community can sponsor. All the parents in the application needs to meet all the visa conditions like; shouldn’t have applied for Subclass 870 whilst applying this one etc.

This visa will allow the parents to travel 05 years to and from Australia, thereafter either apply as a RRV or an Australian Citizenship. With this visa, a parent can work, live and study in Australia until visa is valid. They can also sponsor the other family members to Australia and can get register for Australia’s healthcare system.

To be eligible for same, one must meet the requirements for a Parent Visa (Subclass 103)

• Parents must have either a sponsor or an assurance of support.
• Must meet the family test balance.
• Must meet character requirement.
• Must meet the health examination requirement.
• Visa will be assessed into two steps as per the priorities of case.
• Must not arrive before the specified person, in the application.
• Your visa might be cancelled if you found married, in a De Facto relation or Engaged before the visa granted.

Contributory Parent Visa- Temporary (Subclass 173):

This visa has to be sponsored by an eligible sponsor who is an Australian PR, Citizen or an Eligible New Zealand Citizen, who meet the balance criteria and other eligibility standards to meet all visa conditions of an Australian law. This visa allows parents to live upto 02 years with their child in Australia and can work or study in Australia whilst being on this visa, with no support of government. Must not hold a sponsored (temporary -provisional visa) subclass 870 whilst applying this visa.

          Visa cost: AUD $ 32,065 (Each applicant) to be paid in two instalments.

Contributory Parent Visa- Permanent (Subclass 143):

This visa to be sponsored by your Australian child or another eligible sponsor. This will allow the parent of an Australian PR or a Citizen or an Eligible NZ Citizen to live with their children permanently.
Visa cost: AUD $ 47,955 (Each applicant) to be paid in two instalments.Processing time: Varies case to case.

The Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804):
You must be sponsored by your Australian child who holds either a Permanent residency, Citizenship or an eligible New Zealand Citizen with the balance of family test met. Parent (Male) must be a at least 65-year-old to eligible to apply. Your will get a Permanent residency and the rights to sponsor the eligible family member. Mustn’t have applied or hold a sponsorship for temporary visa subclass 870, whilst applying for this visa.

A child who is; under 18 years of age, over 18 but if they are disable, or a student between 18 to 25 years of age group, who is a single and dependent child of an Australia and New Zealand citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia. If the child was adopted by the Australian parents, it must be adopted before they turned 18 years of age. The child needs to be outside Australia whilst making an application submission. They would need to undergo a medical examination. Once visa granted, they can travel anytime within the validity date and can stay permanently in Australia. This visa will be valid for 05 years like a Permanent residency which allows a child to remain in Australia indefinitely. However, after completion of 05 years, either they can apply for Resident Return Visa (RRV) or an Australian Citizenship.

The visa fees to government would be $ 2790 Maximum application per child and this might take from 05 months till 19 months of time.
